When is the season?
Kalpitiya boat tours are available all year round, weather permitting. While the area enjoys generally pleasant conditions throughout the year, tours may be rescheduled or paused on bad weather days with heavy rain, strong winds, or rough sea conditions to ensure your safety and comfort.
Where does the tour start?
Boat tours typically depart from the Kalpitiya Boat Yard or Kalpitiya Lagoon front. If your hotel is located along the lagoon’s edge, we can often arrange to pick you up right in front of your hotel for your convenience. Otherwise, we can arrange a transfer (at an additional cost) from your hotel to our boat yard and back.
Starting time & Duration?
Morning around 7:00 AM is perfect for bird watching and comfortable cool weather. Afternoon/Evening around 2:30 PM is ideal for golden light and scenic sunset views. Most tours last 2–3 hours, but timing is flexible and can be customized to suit your schedule and preferences.
Is the tour safe for guests?
All tours include life jackets for every guest. Boats have canopies for shade and comfortable seating. Our experienced crew monitors weather and water conditions.
