Departure from Kalpitiya
The journey starts from Kalpitiya at around 9:00 AM. As this is a private tour, the departure time can be adjusted to your preference. The boat ride to Baththalangunduwa Island takes approximately 2 hours, covering a distance of about 36 km, offering scenic views of the lagoon and open sea along the way.
Spending the Day on the Island
As night falls, enjoy a memorable camping experience with a campfire and BBQ dinner by the beach. All necessary camping equipment is included. The quiet island setting is perfect for stargazing, singing, storytelling, and enjoying the natural surroundings under the night sky.
Overnight Beach Camping Experience

Facilities Not Available on the Island
As Baththalangunduwa is a remote island, electricity is not available, and some mobile networks may have limited or no signal. Bathroom facilities are basic, with limited water supply, though good-quality water is available for showering. This experience is ideal for travelers comfortable with simple, nature-based conditions.
Food & Meal Experience
Meals are mainly local Sri Lankan-style dishes, offering an authentic taste of island life. Typical meals include rice and curry, milk rice (kiri bath), string hoppers, noodles with fish curry, and fresh seafood. Dinner features seafood and chicken BBQ, prepared on-site.
Return to Kalpitiya
After breakfast on the island, the return journey begins at around 9:00 AM the following morning, heading back to Kalpitiya by boat, concluding a peaceful and unforgettable beach camping experience.
